The railroad was built throughout the period from 1900 to 1918 (70 kilometres of the railroad was built), mostly to transport soldiers and wood material in order to help the AU finance the war.
The Wooden bridge in Careva Cuprija (Vojnica) was considered to be the biggest wooden bridge in Europe at that time and was 25 metres high and 80 metres long.
