The smoothed sculpture on purpose is not given a protective covering; it is suppoed to become completely rusted over the years as part of its symbolism. No inscriptions, the years 1914 and 1918 are cut out. Author Daniel Cerny. The sculture was made as part of the Danube Transnational Programme project Networld. Redoing of the monument area will be completed in 2018 and 2019.  NAmes of the fallen soldiers will be mentioned on a separte shield, also mentioning the dates and locations of death and the villages they were born.
