Situated east of Grdonj, Pašino brdo fortification is situated on the northern ridge of the old Sarajevo city walls. In Austro-Hungarian military it was categorized as Werk (fort). It has an armoured dome M80, in relatively good condition. The core consists of redoubt barracks story building, on which two joint domes M80 for mortar calibre 15 cm were placed. The two main entrances are provided with a drawbridge into two courts where total of 4 field cannons 90 mm were located behind the armoured sliding. Close-in defence included normal infantry weapons. Charges were later built the fort on the wings of two concrete objects for observation rotating dome. During the siege of Sarajevo, Pašino brdo was situated near the frontline and has suffered significant damage.
Built by the Austro-Hungarian Army as a part of the Sarajevo fortification system from 1898 to 1899, Werk IV was one of the typical fortified locations. It hosted the Austro-Hungarian Army up to 1918 and JNA up to 1992.
