The Sea Garden is an emblem of Varna town. It is situated on 850 decares along the seaside line. There is a sun-dial representing a flying swan at the entrance of the sea garden. The region has been used for recreation and walks from the 60s of the 19 th century, but it was only at the beginning of the 20 th that the park was reconstructed after the Conceptual Topical Project of Anton Ian Novak. At that time a project was proposed to place the busts of outstanding renaissance figures in some of its valleys.

Nowadays the Sea Garden forms an imposing park where you can visit the Natural Science Museum, the Naval Museum, the Copernicus Astronomy Complex planetarium, the first in the country, the zoo and the Terrarium. Here one can find the only Dolphinarium and Aquarium in the country. There are also a swimming pool, tennis court, an open-air theater and a new children s complex (opened on 1 May 2002) with a lot of amusements: water wheels, slide, archery, trampoline.

"Boris Georgiev" City Art Gallery

Situated at 1 Lyuben Karavelov Str.,Varna  downtown next to Varna United Methodist Chirch., the Gallery occupies the building of the former Men's High School. It was built at the end of the 19th century in the tradition of Neo-Gothic architecture.  The City Art Gallery was established with a special protocol, dated 12 January 1944 at the General Assembly of the Society of Varna Artists. It is in its current place since 1988 after a major reconstruction of the building of the Men's High School. Since 1999 with  a decision of Varna Municipal Council the Gallery was named after the name of  Boris Georgiev.

The Gallery organizes guest exhibitions in its eight halls on the first floor on an area of 1000 m2. The permanent exhibition is located on the second and third floors and includes works of painting, graphics and sculpture selected from its own fund.

The story of the Gallery building, built for the Men's High School, is not fully elucidated. In 1884 the building's plans were provided by the Directorate of Constructions to Gencho Kanev, who was invited to take over the construction. He successfully completed the building for two years in 1886.

The authorship of the building's architecture is controversial. It is in the spirit of neo-gothic, with clinker masonry typical for the Anglo-Saxon countries, combined with stone rusticism. Interesting are the window vaults on the first floor and the elevated pediments of the final risalites, which gives the building a characteristic romantic silhouette unusual for the Bulgarian architectural tradition. Perhaps only the triple window openings on the pediments, as well as the elliptical arch in the foyer, are analogous to similar decisions in some of the many churches of Gencho Kanev.

In the heavy 1917  the  comrades of the fallen border guards started saving money from the budget of their families and with the help of Varna people, raised the monument in memory of the officers and soldiers of the 15th Border group, who died for the unification of the homeland. The first monument project was the one of the architect Evgeni Dyakovich. An eagle of marble with retained wings was built over the same pedestal - the work of Kiril Shivarov, so the local people started to call the monument as the eagle's monument. After 5 years the sculptural composition was replaced with the  composition  available  today.
