The Gate of the Heroes is a monument inaugurated on September 28, 1926, and built in the form of a traditional Romanian gate, being made of masonry set on stone foundations and a stone basement with a tiled roof. Above the large arch with a vast opening to the street, reads in prominent archaic capital letters "1916 GATE OF THE HEROES 1918" and "Argeş Regiment no. 4", and on the inner arch lies a brief explanation"[Who died] for their country, for glory, and for their flag". Having the imposing size of a triumphal arch, the gate is meant to be a tribute to the more than 1,100 heroes of the Arges region fallen for the achievement of national unity. The gate was erected based on the traditional architectural style, in the form of a simple but majestic arch, supported on two pillars, on which are engraved the names of certain locations or areas (Bran, Sercaia, Poiana Marului, Sinca Noua, Sinca Veche, Mohu, Predelus, Dealul Porcului) where the Regiment of Dorobanţi of Agres fought battles between 1916 and 1917.
